Job Description: Associate for Business Management Firm Music/Entertainment Industry
We are a Business Management firm that manages finances for musicians, songwriters, producers, and other high-profile clients in the entertainment space. We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Associate in our Los Angeles office.
Responsibilities include:
- Organizing and maintaining physical and digital client files, ensuring proper naming format, document storage and retrieval in the California office and the system server as instructed.
- Banking – learning our banking system and taking charge of making payments timely, getting approvals, and
saving down correct corresponding support. Filing paperwork to open new accounts. - Bookkeeping – accounts payable, accounts receivable, transfers, reconciling credit cards and journal entries.
- Ability to interact professionally with clients and their teams.
- Assist the Team with business and individual tax preparation as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned to support Firm needs.
Requirements:
- Passion for music and the music industry is a must.
- Strong grasp of Accounting principles – College Graduate with an Accounting / Finance degree preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience, Accounting in an office environment – Business Management experience with entertainment/ music/ high net worth clients preferred.
- Positive attitude, a self-motivator with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while working independently.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, & Outlook.
- Xero, QuickBooks, or another accounting software knowledge and experience is a plus.
- Ability to maintain client and firm confidentiality.
The ideal candidate is thorough and direct with strong critical thinking skills and someone who can prioritize effectively.
Salary: $60-65k, commensurate with experience
