Job Title: Associate/ Full Time 

 

Job Description: Associate for Business Management Firm Music/Entertainment Industry

 

We are a Business Management firm that manages finances for musicians, songwriters, producers, and other high-profile clients in the entertainment space. We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Associate in our Los Angeles office.

 

Responsibilities include:    

 

  •  Bookkeeping including daily cash flow, maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Tour Management – entering new tour dates in our systems from 3rd party systems, supplication of tax withholding reduction, keeping the team informed of timing, budgeting, and reconciliation of tours. Helping with budget preparation.
  • Financial and Accounting activities such as breakdown of royalty statements and reconciling intercompany accounts.
  • Delegating tasks to team members; managing checklists and flow of work among team members.
  • Evaluate performance of team members; provide training, guidance, and mentorship where appropriate.
  • Assist Account Manager with special projects as assigned.

 

Requirements:

 

  • 3 + years’ experience, Accounting in an office environment – Business Management experience with entertainment/ music/ high net worth clients preferred.
  • Passion for music and the music industry is a must.
  • Strong grasp of Accounting principles –  College Graduate with an Accounting / Finance degree preferred.
  • Positive attitude, a self-motivator with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while working independently.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, & Outlook.
  • Experience with Xero and/ or QuickBooks is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain client and firm confidentiality.

 

The ideal candidate is thorough and direct with strong critical thinking skills and someone who can prioritize effectively.

 

Salary: $68-83k, commensurate with experience
